Nothing blooms when I tap.
One ripple only makes a bud stir. It needs two rings arriving at nearly the same moment from different sides, so tap with both thumbs at once, one either side of the bud. The first pond shows two pulsing marks where to tap.
How do chains work?
A bursting bloom sends out a bright ring. Any bud close enough to that ring opens from it alone, and sends out its own. Buds placed in clusters fall together, and the chain count rises with each one.
Some flowers need more.
Water lilies need three rings instead of two. Dandelions scatter into a wide burst of seeds that reaches further than any other flower, so save them for a crowded pond.
A flower is somewhere I cannot reach.
Leave it for a few seconds. When only a few flowers are left, they drift in towards open water on their own.
The clean-day count and the garden
Setting the start date
Tap the day counter on the start screen, then Your streak. You can set a start date in the past if you have already been counting.
Logging a slip
On the same screen, tap Log a slip and confirm. The count starts again from today. Every flower already in your garden stays. Your total of clean days and your longest run are both kept.
When do new flowers arrive?
Peonies from the first day, poppies at three days, anemones at a week, ranunculus at ten days, water lilies at two weeks, camellias at three weeks, dandelions at a month, then dahlias, clematis, lotus, passionflowers, hellebores, magnolias and chrysanthemums through the year. Moonflowers open at a year.
Puzzle ponds
What is par?
The fewest ripples the pond can be cleared in. Each tap is one ripple. Clearing a pond at par earns three blossoms, two if you use one extra pair of taps, and one for any clear. Tapping a flower directly makes it hum and costs nothing.
The water stilled before I finished.
All your ripples were spent with flowers still on the water. Tap Try again. Look for the bud whose bloom would reach the most neighbours, then find two tap points on opposite sides of it.
How do I unlock the next pond?
Clear the one before it with any number of blossoms.
Full bloom
What is free and what is paid?
Playing the pond, rating the urge, seeing your history and counting your clean days are free. Full bloom is one purchase, made once and kept, that grows your clean days into the garden and opens all forty puzzle ponds. The first six ponds are free to everyone.
I bought it but the garden is locked.
Open the garden or a locked pond and tap Restore purchase. You need to be signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with. A new phone picks it up the same way.
Refunds
Apple handles all App Store refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase.
Sound and music
Both can be switched off from the start screen. Music keeps playing if you were already listening to something else, mixed underneath.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores lives on your phone. Deleting the app removes all of it. See the privacy policy.
